Design
|
The sophisticated styling by Italdesign-Giugiaro, combined with the exhilarating Maserati V8 and
the Transaxle system for optimum weight distribution, guarantees unique enjoyment anywhere: in
or out of town, just as much as on the race track.
On urban roads, mixed stretches or on the track, nothing can be compared to the emotion of sampling the 400 hp Maserati V8 engine. Inside, the driver and passenger are enveloped in carbon fibre, Poltrona Frau leather and Brightex® material.
The aggressive styling, emphasised by distinctive elements such as the side skirts, the new front and rear spoilers and the exclusively designed interior render the GranSport Spyder the ideal droptop for lovers of open air driving.
Marking a new chapter in the Trident's history, the vehicle was created to satisfy those looking for unforgettable thrills and real sports performance.
The sporty look of the new Maserati GranSport Spyder is emphasised by the front bumper that features a pronounced lower splitter.
The car’s side bars are elegantly integrated in the body and are another echo of energetic design. These modifications translate into superior performance and deliver obvious handling benefits for the driver.
Completing the Maserati GranSport Spyder’s racy look are the 19" wheel rims. Their Trident design is inspired by those fitted to the cars which compete in the single-make Maserati Trofeo series. The 235/35 ZR19 front and 265/30 ZR19 lowered rear tyres make the driving experience even more thrilling.
Maserati’s traditional elegance is reflected in the chrome finish of the grille mesh that covers the air outlets housed in the rear bumper.

Technology:
|
The Maserati GranSport Spyder features an evolution of the GranSport’s 4244 cm3 V8 engine, a power unit that generates 400 bhp and 452 Nm of maximum torque.
A specially designed sports exhaust system has been fitted to the engine (only available in markets in which it has been homologated) and true Trident fans will appreciate the deep, rich rumble it produces.
The GranSport Spyder is equipped with an electro-hydraulically actuated, six-speed "Cambiocorsa" transmission. This allows for different types of gear change and is managed by software that, in Sport mode, brings swifter shifts (35% faster than the Spyder Cambiocorsa). The handling is even more dynamic and makes the most of the lowered suspension set up and Skyhook electronic control. This system is fitted as standard on this model and enables the car to instantly and continuously adjust the calibration of the shock absorbers to suit the chosen gear and the road surface.
Thanks to this technology package, the performance of the GranSport Spyder is an improvement over that of the Spyder. The vehicle’s top speed is 285km/h and it is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 4.95 seconds.

Interior
|
The interior, an eye-catching blend of carbon fibre, leather and high-tech fabric, is inspired by the GranSport. It gives the cabin an elegant and yet sporty feel.
The upper part of the console is finished in leather and the centre section, framed by piping, is covered in BrighTex®, a special technical material found on the sportiest of vehicles such as the MC12. The same finish is used for the centre section of the streamlined sports seats. These hug the driver’s body, can be adjusted electronically and provide maximum comfort levels when driving sportily.
